Brief history of the Internet and Security Issues. When you think of the internet you think of something that has been around for as long as you can remember. Though does anyone know when the internet actually took off? Well in the 1900s Nikola Tesla toyed with the idea of a “world wireless system” but it wasn’t until the 1930s and 1940s when amazing thinkers Paul Otlet and Vannevar Bush conceived searchable storage systems. It wasn’t until the 1960s that MIT’s J.C.R Licklider popularized the idea of an “intergalactic network” of computers. In 1969 the first internet prototype ARPANET delivered it’s first “node-to-node” communication from one computer to another. It’s amazing how much the internet has changed from a theory, to deliver it’s first communications to another computer. Today the internet is a vast space of knowledge at our finger tips, but as uncle Ben says “with great power comes great responsibility.” Though unfortunately in the internet’s case with great power comes great security risks. When you think of using the internet you also need to think of the risks that come with using the internet, you could be hacked, you could risk getting your identity stolen and so many things that could happen to you. When using the internet you need to be careful and use adblocks,use a good virus protection and make sure everything is secure.
